CSS Exam Introduction

CSS stands for Central Superior Services. CSS exams are one of the most popular competitive exams in Pakistan. 

Every year, the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) conducts this audit and announces its findings.

The aim of this test is to recruit the most intelligent, disciplined and capable people from across Pakistan into twelve different departments of the federal government. CSS officials are called bureaucrats.

Those who pass this exam can be appointed as designated civil servants in place of BPS-17. In Pakistan, the CSS, an elite permanent bureaucratic organization, is responsible for government secretaries, ministers, and civilian bureaucratic activities.

CSS Exams Structure:

Written tests:

The first phase of Pakistan Central Higher Education Examination is a theory test consisting of 12 exams, 6 of which are compulsory and the rest are optional. Additionally, you should know the following:

ELECTIVE SUBJECTS:

The elective Subject of the CSS curriculum are divided into seven sections by the FPSC. To ensure consistency, the ratings are also divided into groups. You can choose any of these themes from their respective collections. Make sure the total reaches 600 points.

Please note that there is only one article available for each topic that scores 100 points. Items worth 200 points consist of two works.

Medical Test:

After passing the written portion of the CSS exam, the next step to take is to undergo a medical examination to ensure your physical fitness for work.

However, the CSS exam can be taken by people with different abilities. But they will be selected in four specializations including:

Postal Service

Trade and commerce

Information services.

If the candidate has a physical disability, you will need to obtain a “Disability Certificate” from a recognized body. However, they must provide the certificate in advance. Furthermore, they will be provided with all the necessary assistance during the exams.


Psychological test:

Candidates must be physically prepared to take the CSS exam but must also be mentally prepared for the position. CSS candidates will be required to demonstrate their intellectual abilities through a written psychological test.

Psychological tests in CSS tests evaluate the mental, behavioral and attitudinal characteristics of the applicant.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CSS EXAMS:

Age Criteria: To take the CSS exam, the age of the candidate must be between 21 and 30 years.

Educational Criteria: The minimum for admission to CSS is a bachelor's degree. Applicants must have completed at least second degree from a reputed university in Pakistan or abroad.

The candidate must be a citizen of Pakistan.
