Well, Apple is very confident that it can harness the power of the 48MP sensor to give us "lossless" zoom of not just 2x (48mm) but now 1.2x (28mm) and 1.5x (35mm). These are very common focal lengths and you can even set your iPhone to 1.5X mode, for example, which we will definitely do.
You can definitely see a significant improvement in quality with the 5x and 10x zoom, with sharp details and excellent stabilization so that images look sharp during the day and in low-light conditions.
You can also now capture 48MP images in HEIF format instead of RAW, which is more storage efficient. And with USB 3, videographers can record ProRes 4K video at 60 fps directly to external storage for easy transfer of work files.
The only thing that hasn't changed much is the ultra-wide camera, which still takes photos at 12MP, so it doesn't have the great detail of the new main camera. If we were betting, we'd be betting on an improved ultra-wide camera in the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series.Selfies are another area that remains largely the same, with some changes to skin tone and HDR processing, but nothing major.
